There are none. Here is what is used instead, and what would have to change.
This is a pre-launch draft, and it says so rather than pretending
There is no incorporated company behind EuropeDoor yet, so there is no legal person to be bound by this document and no data controller to be accountable under it. What follows is the position we intend to take, published early so it can be argued with — it is not a contract, and it will be reviewed by a lawyer and re-issued in the name of a real entity before anything on this site collects a payment or a personal detail.
This site sets no cookies
Not analytics cookies, not preference cookies, not a consent cookie to remember that you dismissed a consent banner. There is no banner because there is nothing to consent to, and a banner that appears anyway is a dark pattern with a legal costume on.
What is used instead
localStorage, for one thing only: the list of places you save in My
Europe. It is stored by your browser under this domain, it is never transmitted, and
it is not a cookie — it is not attached to requests and cannot be read by anyone else.
Clearing site data deletes it, and there is no copy anywhere.
What would require a banner
- Any analytics that stores or reads an identifier on your device.
- Embedded third-party content — a video, a map tile provider, a social widget.
- Advertising of any kind, which we have refused outright rather than deferred.
If any of those ever ship, this page changes first, and the banner is a real choice with a working reject button rather than a wall.
