- Euro and Schengen since 2023 — the old kuna is gone and the Slovenian border is open.
- Water shoes are genuinely useful; most beaches are pebble or rock.
- Dubrovnik's old town has cruise-ship peaks; check the arrivals calendar and go on a light day.
