Practical things about Poland that are not obvious from outside it.
- Auschwitz-Birkenau is a memorial and a cemetery; visits are free, timed, and behaviour there matters.
- Milk bars (bar mleczny) are subsidised canteens serving a full meal for a few euros.
- The złoty, not the euro, though cards work nearly everywhere.
