Why go
- Rock-cut churches with Byzantine frescoes in the open-air museum
- Derinkuyu, an underground city eighteen storeys deep
- Balloons at dawn, weather permitting, which it often does not
- The Rose and Red valleys, walked at sunset

Travel tips
Practical things about Türkiye that are not obvious from outside it.
- Only East Thrace and part of Istanbul are geographically in Europe; the rest is Asia.
- Mosques welcome visitors outside prayer times; shoes off, shoulders and knees covered, heads covered for women.
- Bargaining is expected in bazaars and not in shops.
Accommodation & restaurants
EuropeDoor lists neither, yet. Both are business listings rather than editorial entries: they need an operator who claims them, a verification tier and a way to keep prices current, and all three are blocked on the same thing as everything else commercial here. How listings will work · what is built and what is blocked.
Publishing a scraped hotel list would be quick and would be the first unverified thing on this site. That is the trade being refused.

Europe Experience Score
How this is calculated — derived from our own tagging, not from measurement. It says what a place is for, not how good it is. The tick on each bar is the median across the whole Atlas, so a bar short of it is a dimension this place is not for.
