Inland Croatia, Croatia
Zagreb
A central European capital of coffee terraces and museums, with almost nothing Mediterranean about it.
Zagreb is at 45.810°N, 15.980°E.
Why go
- The Museum of Broken Relationships, which is much better than the joke
- Dolac market above the main square
- The Upper Town, and the gas lamps still lit by hand each evening
Give it 1–2 nights
Enough to see the list below without spending the trip on trains. The Journey Planner uses exactly this range when it builds an itinerary.

Travel tips
Practical things about Croatia that are not obvious from outside it.
- Euro and Schengen since 2023 — the old kuna is gone and the Slovenian border is open.
- Water shoes are genuinely useful; most beaches are pebble or rock.
- Dubrovnik's old town has cruise-ship peaks; check the arrivals calendar and go on a light day.
Accommodation & restaurants
EuropeDoor lists neither, yet. Both are business listings rather than editorial entries: they need an operator who claims them, a verification tier and a way to keep prices current, and all three are blocked on the same thing as everything else commercial here. How listings will work · what is built and what is blocked.
Publishing a scraped hotel list would be quick and would be the first unverified thing on this site. That is the trade being refused.

Europe Experience Score
How this is calculated — derived from our own tagging, not from measurement. It says what a place is for, not how good it is. The tick on each bar is the median across the whole Atlas, so a bar short of it is a dimension this place is not for.
